An Uneventful Patrol - Zaphias [OPEN]

[It's a sunny afternoon in the Empire's capital, Zaphias. One that sees many people walking about in the Middle and Lower Quarters.

Currently walking about the Lower Quarter, pausing to take a break by the Aque Blastia, is a certain Knight Captain.

Dressed as a normal knight, Finas Scifo studies the area about him]

So miuch has changed...

[He removes his helm, running a hand through his hair as he turns to take a drink from the fountain]

[Duke]

( I don't know why he's here but I wanted to tag you so MEH )

[ And Duke's just going to pause his absent study of everyone and everything to stare blankly at Finas. He knows a blond, but that was Lowell's blond, and this one looks similar, more faintly familiar, and too old. ]

(Like Duke needs a reason to be anywhere.)

[Finas blinks, turning around and noticing someone staring at him.]

Hello, sir...Can I help you?

[Duke]

( You have a point thar )

[ Someone got his gender right on the first try! Thoughtful frown time. Finas, you're definitely making Duke think he's seen you before. ]

Curiosity, little more. [ That doesn't mean he's stopped staring at you. ]

[Finas shifts a little uncomfortably under that crimson gaze.]

Curious...? About what?

[Duke]

[ And it's not letting up, even as unfocused as it is. ]

You seem familiar. Yet not. Curious.

[Ah. This again. Ever since he reappeared, people had been mistaking him for Flynn.]

[Duke]

[ And a slight head tilt, still staring. ]

The blond commandant is younger than you. Yet you are familiar as well....

[Finas swallows. First Flynn, then Yeager, now this cook.]

O-Oh? Guess I just have one of those faces!

[The pale-haired man does seem familiar, however.]

[ Still watching. Although a little more vacantly, like he's reviewing memories rather than watching real life. ]

You have similar face structure to the blond commandant, yet more age and different... [ He knows you, at least in passing. Clues, clues.. ]

[Finas looks down at himself and smiles wryly]

What gave it away? The clothes?

[He tries to make a joke to lighten the mood.]

[ Blank blink. Joking + Duke = falls flat. ]

In the war.

[And Finas' expression falls as the war is mentioned]

So, what if I was in the war? Is that a bad thing?

[ A blink. ]

Should it be? The face I remember was a captain, yet you... [ "are not" is unsaid. ]
