[Yeager]

[Gently, noting that smidgen of emotion] I imagine it did not end up a lovely experience for either of us. I had only signed up as a matter of duty, like so many nobles were obligated to do. And I did have good times in the service, ja, but politically I had definitely picked the wrong time.

...You know, I never caught your name.

[Duke]

. . . . . [ A blank glance, this second one, just from the corner of his eye. He hadn't given it, that's why. Maybe Yeager will figure it out, how to get Duke's name from him. ]

[Yeager]

[Ah, silence. Something he's realized isn't the result of Duke not having anything to say, but of him being cautious. Perhaps it'll help if he offers some more information on his part, displaying some trust.]

I never did introduce myself, did I? How rude of me. I'm Yeager of Leviathan's Claw. [His hand rises a little from habit, but he lets it drop, knowing Duke wouldn't be cool with shaking it.]

[Duke]

[ So the blue dead man becomes Yeager of Leviathan's Claw in Duke's head. Watch out, because if he feels the need to refer to you by name, it will be as "Yeager of Leviathan's Claw"... Not that he knows what Leviathan's Claw is, but guessing by Altosk and Brave Vesperia, a guild?]

. . . Duke. [ And a pause further. ] Pantarei.

[Yeager]

[And the lightbulb comes on in Yeager's head. He's always been good with names, after all.]

Pantarei. Ah, I do remember you. You were out of the knights a while before Temza, weren't you?

[Duke]

[ A nod, although a curious one. He doesn't quite recognize Yeager, although that might be because of the oddity of the Blastia interfering with him recognizing the Aer that would be just Yeager's. ]

[Yeager]

Ja. I'm not sure if we ever talked. I was only a lieutenant, so you didn't really have anything to do with me personally.

[Duke]

[ A short blink, then a slight, short, agreeing nod. ] Unless you were magically inclined before the blastia....

[Yeager]

[He chuckles] Oh, no. I couldn't even do a decent arte. Just did not have the right genetics for it, I suppose.

[Duke]

[ A slow blink, and a hint of curiosity. ] Does magic cast upon you have the intended effect, in full?

[Yeager]

[Motioning to his heart] Ja, this does not really serve to interrupt any spells. I have had the disadvantage of its pumping being interruptable by certain powerful artes, so I do try to stay out of fights for the most part.

[Duke]

.... I see. [ Still slightly curious. Most non-magical fighters he's encountered simply haven't felt like studying. ]

[Yeager]

[Perceiving that curiosity, he decides to elaborate] It was always annoying, not being able to go through the same training as a lot the other knights because my uselessness in spellcasting. I think there were only two or three others with the same deficiency as me. It did cause me to focus more on weapons training, though, which came in handy after I went to Dahngrest.

[Duke]

[ A short blink, glance over again. He's not quite used to people reading him so well. It's been years- And back to looking at the aer krene. ]

I see.

[Yeager]

So, you're very aer-sensitive? I'm impressed that you could actually pick up that the flow was strange around my heart.
