Understandable. [And again, rather disappointing, but he shows none of that in his expression.] Though I assure you I am not a particularly vengeful person, so you don't need to be concerned about incriminating anyone. I don't really see the benefit in vendettas and feuds, unlike much of guild culture.

[Well, that was a partial lie. He saw no personal benefit in making enemies--but as for society outside of his guild, all power to them. A drawn-out feud meant more opportunity for business, as all those weapons had to come from somewhere.]

No reason other than curiosity. It's not often I see a noble downtown, especially one wearing such a blatant symbol.

"Well, it seems to have eluded most of the other patrons of this fine establishment." Alvin takes another gulp of ale. "And its them I should be worried about."

Pausing for a second, a smile crosses the lord's face. "And I fear not in incriminating anyone, sir, it's just awfully impolite for someone to be talked about behind his or her back, don't you agree?" Nope. This lion's lips are sealed.

[Yeager]

[chuckles] Yes, they must be unobservant tonight, luckily for you.

[Impolite? Well, he supposed so, though more often he thought of it in terms like 'useful' or 'dangerous,' depending on situation and person.] If any of the talk is unpleasant, certainly.

[But back to the question he'd come for.] So, what does bring you here, if you would excuse the inquiry?

Alvin smiles lightly. "Well, far be it for me to insult my fellow drinkers, but they must be blind most of the nights I've been here."

He regards Yeager. "I have been exploring the forests about Dahngrest. Getting back in touch with nature. One can often forget about nature."

Really now? I suppose so. Have you been staying in town or out camping?

"Usually out camping. One can tell most about nature at night some times."

Alvin seemed an unusual noble, especially one who is a lord and a council member.

"I just need time to get away. It is not often I can visit Tolbyccia."

[Yeager]

I see. It must be stressful back home for you, what with all the corruption and political dissent.

And an ever-so-slightly narrowing of the eyes from the Lord.

"I'm afraid I can't comment on internal affairs." He says, as though wishing he could.

Oh the wonders of politics. Cedric sighed to himself as he tried to lighten the Alvin's mood.

S-speaking of politics, Alvin, could you show e around Halure the next time I'm in your neighborhood?

He gave Alvin a sheepish smile, trying to give him a better mood somehow as a friend.

Why, of course not. We all are aware of it though, generally. News travels fast.

[shrugs] We have our fair share of that in the guilds, as well. Though of course here it is less secretive and more likely to be worked out through violence. Union law is loose, after all, and turns a blind eye to a lot of things provided they don't cause too much public unrest.

[Hm, Cedric's comments are really starting to become interesting. Yeager's gaze flickers over to him.] So you are interested in traveling as well?

Cedric's ears perked up as Yeager spoke to him. He nodded slowly.

Y-yesI am. I use to live in Mantiac as a child and I would make somewhat frequent trips to Aspio as well to meet with their researchers. My father also has taken me to the Capital as well. Beyond the two harbors, Dahngrest and Heliord. . .I think that's about it. . .? Traveling means I can see new types of people and experience new things.

He scratched under his blastia as he thought of the other places he has been to.

You've been all over the world, then. How fun~ I do a lot of traveling myself, though mostly on business, so I don't always get the chance to see the sights.

You were involved with the researchers in Aspio? [And yes, he can tell why, but it is an intriguing blastia...]

My dad was a traveler and adventurer. Cedric mused. So traveling was the norm to me I guess. . .

He paused and pointed to his blastia.

My dad would drag me along to Aspio to get this thing checked on. I can't speak without it, otherwise I don't think it has any other redeeming qualities. . .

[Yeager]

Really? My, that is a fine piece of engineering. [peers at the blastia--he'd supposed it was meant to improve Cedric's voice, but for it to actually replace a part damaged or deformed enough to prevent him from speaking was a feat in itself.] Are there any internal components or does it work by aeric projection? I imagine a pressure-sensitive redirect channel would be the least invasive solution, though difficult to calculate parameters for...

Cedric blinked at all of Yeager's slightly over his head question. His mouth opened for a second before he closed it to think.

I believe they said it was functioning on aer. . .all I really know is that it allows me to speak. If you don't waltz off with it you can look at it sir. . .


He pulled down his hood and unclasped the blastia and placed it on the bar counter, it revealed a large scar dragging across his neck almost from ear to ear. He gestured for Yeager to examine it to his hearts content by waving his hand a little.
