I have two adopted girls. They're sixteen and fourteen and can generally take care of themselves these days, which is nice.

There is a slight shifting when children are mentioned.

By all rights, Alvin should be married and well on his way to making an heir about now. But he isn't, so the lord shifts a tad awkwardly.

"That must be nice. Bet you still worry about them."

Of course. That can't be helped. [he reaches for his wallet, pulling out a picture of the girls and showing it to the two men] That's them, by the way. My Gauche and Droite.

[Droite / Cedric]

Cedric looked over the photo and smiled.

They sure are cute. I bet you're the type of dad that would threaten bodily harm to any boys that come near them.

[Yeager]

Mm, I try to be understanding. But I admit, I do get protective. It's difficult not to be in a culture like this. Though my girls' fighting skills have improved marvelously over the past few years...

[Droite / Cedric]

It must be impressive when all three of you fight together. I'm kinda jealous sometimes of others who are able to defend themselves. I'm kinda just a weakling. . .

He sighs but gives a sheepish smile.

[Yeager]

I'm sure you could acquire some self-defense skills with practice. You don't appear that weak. [smiles back kindly]

[Droite / Cedric]

Past conflicts with bullies says otherwise, but maybe if I take up self-defense then at least I won't be totally unprepared against a monster or whatever. . .

There was a pause

Do you fight often, sir?

[Yeager]

Not often. I have guards on my payroll for that. But I do keep my skills up for the sake of caution and sparring, as well as making sales. You'd be surprised how often I end up demonstrating weapons.

"I'm sure I can teach you."

The lord turns in his seat to look directly at Cedric.

"I'm sure we can do something with you. Definitely."

[Droite / Cedric]

Cedric gave a light chuckle.

Then I am in your strong care.

Alvin then leans back in his chair to continue drinking. He does, however, eye Yeager a few times
