[Yeager]

[Looks briefly at the scar--ah, so it was damage after all--and picks up the blastia, turning it over in his hand. He picks at a little access panel on the back, nudging it open with his fingernail to examine the components inside]

Oh, it is aeric projection. Looks like a diaphragm-operated feedback system in here. How interesting; they were just starting to develop the algorithms for this sort of thing when I was finishing school.

[Shutting the panel, he hands the blastia politely back to Cedric] Must have been a costly little accessory.

[Droite / Cedric]

He places the blastia back on his neck and coughs a little.

I wouldn't really know. . . if it was detrimental to our finances cause I got this as a kid, but that would probably explain why we moved from Mantiac and kept traveling. . .

He moved his head around and stretched his neck.

Youare quite knowledgeable in different blastia.

[Yeager]

I studied blastia engineering for a while. It's a useful background to have in many industries, you know. Helped me to get a job with one of the blastia dealers when I first came to Dahngrest, and it still comes in handy when I'm dealing with my design teams.

[Droite / Cedric]

Geeze. . .I feel under educated now. . .

Cedric laughed a little

Blastia have so many uses. Why did you decide to go into dealing weapons, if I'm not mistaken, that's what your group does right?

[Yeager]

[chuckles amiably with him] Yes, we sell weapons, mostly in bulk. We do individual custom orders, too, for those looking for unique personal arms.

I just sort of ended up in the business. Leviathan's Claw was hiring after that wave of anti-Union riots and the salary was good, so I took a position with them. Then of course I got to know the leader, and when she passed away she guaranteed me the directorship. So I suppose I'll be in this area of work for a long time yet.

[Droite / Cedric]

Pausing, Cedric mused over Yeager's words.

Well at least it's something you enjoy, right? As for me, I enjoy working in a tavern then being chased by hoards of monsters or angry knights.

[Yeager]

It is indeed. How did you come to be working here?

[Droite / Cedric]

After my mother was killed, my father and I traveled around. We finally came to settle here in Dahngrest, thinking we could open a business and live a peaceful life. We've been here for....a long time.

Cedric gave a puzzled look.

I've been working since the tavern opened. . .thinking back on it makes me feel a little old. . .

[Yeager]

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope that you have found some peace here, though it's not exactly the city where I would recommend looking for it.

[more playfully] You're not old~ You must be at least ten years younger than me, and I don't consider myself old.

[Droite / Cedric]

My mother left me a lot of skills like singing and the piano so if I ever feel lonely I just do one or the other.


Cedric rested his chin on his hands and gave a playful smile.

Ah, but sir you look so young. I wouldn't peg you for someone no older then 30.

[Yeager]

What wonderful means to remember her by. You are quite lucky.

[chuckles heartily] You flatter me. I'm thirty-six--young perhaps for a guild leader, but not quite that youthful.

[Droite / Cedric]

At least you aren't as old as the Don though. . . but I suppose age comes with some perks. Being 20 and working at a tavern doesn't always exactly screaming "great idea" when it comes to child rearing.

[Yeager]

Ah, but surely you don't want to be too tied down yet. Children take a lot of time and energy to manage.

[Droite / Cedric]

Ahh that's true not that I'd find a girl I'd ever like. Ever.

He drums his fingers.

Do you have any children or is work your only lover?

"Hm? Oh, sure. I'll take you whenever you want, but about now is the best."

Alvin pauses, smiling. "The Shield Blastia is in bloom, after all. It's so peaceful..."

Then the topic turns to blastia, and the lord's eyes sort of glaze over, as if this was all over his head. He goes to drinking silently, not interrupting.
